Original paperwork of Kingdom Child.
Original paperwork of Kingdom Child.
Eva and I were singing at a local park (Otter Creek in Kentucky), when suddenly I began scatting and playing some chording on the guitar. Eva began hearing some words and she grabbed "Lord I Repent" which we had been practicing. It was the only paper we could find. Then she began writing the words to Kingdom Child on the back, finishing up on the front of Lord I Repent. I do not retain new tunes very well so we truly wanted to get this song recorded at home as soon as possible. It was, however, very late that night before one of us said, "Didn't we write a song today? We'd better get it down." With a little help from the Lord, I eventually remembered this one. Eva does a nice job writing words for the tunes God gives me. She says that the lyrics come so easy to her, that they can't really be from her. She attributes her lyrics to God as well.
