It's a Fallen World

by Eva Zarley

"Be strong and take heart, all you who hopeA boy and girl looking down at the earth at the bottom of this page. in the Lord." Psalm 31:24

It appears this world keeps increasing with injustice and a lack of moral conscience among people. Indeed, the word of God assures us this will happen as the end of the age draws near. Mankind has become prideful, envious, boastful, lovers of self, and greedy, just as predicted in 2nd Timothy, Chapter 3.

My tendency is to get offended when I hear of an unjust judge, a corrupt politician or officer of the law. My first reaction to a business that deals with me dishonestly or uncaringly, is to let anger start to rise up. All around me, I see and hear of things that are unfair and wrong and if my focus is not on the Lord, I get upset.

Additionally the news is full of all sorts of alarming and disturbing reports. I don't even watch T.V., but there is one that blares fear and terror just about everywhere I go. The short exposure I have could easily drag me into despair, if I didn't keep my faith in perspective. It sickens my heart and spirit whenever I hear of members of the human race doing cruel and horrible things to one another.

My husband and I have a code term that reminds me to let it all go. "It's a fallen world." That is why all these things abound. Much of what we suffer in this world are merely the consequences of the fall and the curse that holds this earth to carnality.

God is still on the throne. He is in complete control. He does not wring His holy hands in dismay at the things that are happening. In His realm, there is perfect peace, all is going right on schedule as the time of sending Christ for the Church comes closer.

When the things that upset and concern my heart are overwhelming, I The earth that the boy and girl at the top of this page are looking down upon.run to my God, Who is my refuge and strength– a very present help in trouble. I cast all my cares upon Him, knowing that He cares for me. I hide myself in Christ and receive the shelter of the Most High.

Only then, am I able to cope with all the things that are wrong with this world.

"Thank you, Lord. You are the Rock and the Anchor that holds my soul together and keeps me from being overcome with fear, in this fallen world."
