Our Father sensed a question
In our hearts so long ago
And He sent the Holy Spirit
To teach us what He knows
Since the Fall we teeter so
We even fall again
But Jesus Christ, our Savior
Helps us up just like a friend
Our Father now, in purity
Can see us through His Son
Our lives through Him renewed now
It's as if we've just begun
True friends will never leave us
Once we're up and on our way
Jesus Christ still guides us
As we strive to live each day
Our lives are in His charge now
And He won't let us down
In this world of rampant darkness
He's the Light that we have found
We love the Christ, our Jesus
He's much more than a dream
In fact, He wakes us gently
From all the worldly schemes

That snap at us so violently
Like mad dogs on their chains
Held back by our loving Lord
Where in our hearts, He reigns
Now we're in the Mind of God
Where we rest eternally
Not limited by the physical
Or anything we see
Even in this world
We can rest in calm delight
Knowing that our God protects
Us from destructive sight
Vigilant, be vigilant
The world can still creep in
And change our so uncertain minds
Away from Christ, toward sin
Be vigilant for Jesus
He's the way, the truth, the life
He'll cut the ropes that bind us
With His pearl-handled knife
For it's how we see not what we see
That keeps us from the pain
And Jesus shows us how to see
As in our hearts He reigns
