Show Notes for Episode 38

I Put God's Prism to My Eye
By Vic Zarley

I put God's prism to my eye
And made the world dance so high
As music played, a cosmic drum
Shared its beat just as my thumb
Moved His glass in perfect time
So trees danced in a love design
And cars became a caravan
To the rhythm of the band
Inside out, upside down
Laughter, love from nowhere found
A shimmer off the mountain lake
A man asleep-a man awake
God's prism cannot be denied
The power it can pull inside
His glass refracts the light within
And changes what goes in my lens
'Til trees can dance and cars can, too
I soon remove my socks and shoes
And soon I'm dancing free and clear
Seeing God in all His mirrors

God wants you to see the world through Him. Did you know that? He wants communion with you which is a step beyond prayer. He wants to reside in you in such a way that when you look, you are no longer the one seeing. It is you seeing through the eyes of Christ. What a marvel, what a wonder! Did you know this was possible? Probably not, if the world has its way with you...but the world does not have its way with you anymore, does it? There will come a time when we will no longer be attracted to the world's Halloween ways, its focus on death and its prevailing themes which make us sob and cause our hearts to ache. The world fills us with dread and causes tears to stream down our cheeks. It does not need to be this way. Go to Him, now. Waste not another minute, drenched in your sad tears. God wants you as much as you need Him.

How Great the Love I Have for You
by Vic Zarley

Jesus how I want to know you
Feel Your presence
I adore You
I do

You are holy, I am too
Because I've come so near to You
Right now
And how
Great the love I have for You
Yes, I do

Please walk with me through this land
There's nothing I need understand
Right now
Help me keep my eyes on You
In everything that I should do
Right now
And how
Great the love I have for You
Yes, I do

In the Presence of You, Lord
I am truly free
In the Presence of You, Lord
I am truly me, I see

When I was just starting out playing the guitar, I would write songs because that was what I wanted to do when I got older. One of the songs I wrote a few years into my playing, was entitled "If You Go" and it was an immature love song. You know, lyrically lacking so to speak. The tune was nice, though. While I was living in Idaho after my wife, Linda's death, I decided to make it a Jesus love song and I think it turned out to be just that. I love the Lord with all my heart!
