Show Notes for Episode 23
This episode starts off with a poem of mine entitled, "Mind of God, Mind of Mine." I believe it will inspire you. A lot of the Christian denominations either denigrate the mind or ignore it. I don't know why they would do that. It takes a mind to think. What we think has power (either good or bad). How we think, how we interpret what we see, sets our mood and creates happiness or miscreates sadness. God wants us happy. That's why He sent His Son, Jesus, to both save us from our sins by His blood shed on the cross AND teach us how we should think while we reside on this planet.

If we are made in the image and likeness of God, then God's gift to mankind, Him being the ultimate mind, is our mind. Yes, He gave us love, too. And that love can be pure (as God created it) or impure (as mankind made it).

But our minds are involved in ALL of that. We often take the gift of our mind for granted. It doesn't matter what I think, we think. So what, how I feel about things, we snap. So what about my life, we moan. We misuse God's gift to us when we believe an untruth. As God wants us to be molded into shape, like clay, we too mold and shape our world like clay. But God knew what He was doing, we don't. We need help. God sent His son. There was nothing else we need. He is the Way, the Truth, the Life. He is the answer no matter what the question.

Mind of God, Mind of Mine by Vic Zarley

Mind of God, mind of mine
All is one, all the time
Shape the future, shaped the past
God will give us what we ask

Mind of loving will not cease
Knowing Jesus gives us peace
All we ask is peace on earth
And a chance for second birth

Mind of mine, mind of yours
All one ocean, many shores
As one star shows ships the north
Jesus Christ will soon come forth

In the end mankind will be
Standing in the endless sea
As hands are raised, the sea will part
And Jesus Christ will flood our hearts

When I initially wrote this song, it was entitled, "I Can't Believe It" and was quite secular. Eva and I rewrote it, transforming it into a powerful Christian song. I hope it bolsters your faith.

And I Believe It by Vic and Eva Zarley

There is but one way I can see
That Jesus died for you and me
Some don't think that on that cross
Jesus died for all the lost
But I believe it
Yes, I believe it's true
Yes, I believe it's true

Why all the pain and all the fear
Accept that Christ is truly here
Within our hearts how He can dwell
The only road away from hell
And I believe it
Yes, I believe it's true
Yes, I believe it's true

In this world there's only time
For Christ to work upon our minds
Our hearts must truly hold Him dear
His way is God's, it's very clear
And I believe it
Yes, I believe it's true
Yes, I believe it's true

The time is now to take Him in
He truly is our greatest friend
His gentle arms are open wide
Won't you let Him come inside?
So you'll believe it
Yes, you'll believe it's true
Yes, you'll believe…It's true
