Show Notes for Episode 20
I worked for 5 years at an Amazon distribution center in Jeffersonville, Indiana. As I walked around pulling orders, or stocking product or counting product (I had three different jobs that I did there in the 5 years) I would occasionally receive a poem that I'd have to stop and write down. Pilate Asked a Question was such a poem. This poem fits perfectly in the same podcast as the teaching today.

Pilate Asked a Question by Vic Zarley

Pilate asked a question
That's still flying around today
“What is Truth?” a lot of people
Nearby heard him say.

It's confusing as I'll get out
When it's truth that we pursue
For the world's truth is different
Making God's truth misconstrued

If one thinks a lie is truth
Then for him, the truth's a lie
So believers in the world
Just thrash about and cry

Until they reach the bottom
Of the pit they shoveled to
Exhausted in their own strength
Now they REALLY want what's true

And truth will spread like butter
In a mind that's not so stuck
In all the worldly mire
In all the worldly muck

The truth will come like water
On a mind that's in the fire
It will come and quench
The flames that burn
If that's what we desire

But if we don't, don't worry
You can only dig so deep
Before you find the truth you thought
Is not what you would keep

For truth is not so relative
Not different for us all
Truth will tell you what it is
Once you take down your walls

That separate your life into
Compartments, neat and clean
And makes it so much easier
To see what you want seen

God won't make you look to Him
And disrespect your mind
But He will make it very clear
If you seek Him, Him you'll find

God in all His glory's
Standing at the edge of time
Waiting patiently for us
In us, He wants to shine

He stands upon a mountain top
But it's hard for us to see
For our attention's focused on
This world so desperately

Lift your eyes above the world
Lift your eyes to Him
And let Him be your one true guide
Away from sight so dim

I am very grateful to Bjork Ostrom for his instrumental entitled Something Somewhere – Instrumental which I got from Music.Mevio.com

I think God brings to our attention what He needs us to think about before He downloads a song or a poem to us. Before I wrote this song, I was at a novelty store and stopped for a while to look at Rubik's Cubes. I don't know why I pondered them for as long as I did. Well, maybe I DO know.

Rubik's Cube by Vic Zarley

We've mixed us up, we've tied us down
We've twisted us around and 'round
Until it's gone--Oh, where's the sign
That we exist within God's mind?

“Oh, help us Lord,” we've cried aloud
“To see the Christ within this crowd
Of Rubik's sections all askew
Help us see we're all in You.”

Chorus:
We're a Rubik's Cube of people
Every shape and size and kind
A Rubik's Cube of people thinking
We have left God's mind
But the Holy Spirit knows just how
To show us we are one
And take us back to how it was
Before it had begun

This Rubik's Cube we've twisted so
Our lows are high, our highs are low
Our down is up, our up is down
And what we hear makes little sound

But how the Holy Spirit can
Reverse the twisted laws of man
Until the love that's hidden deep
Awakes us all from Rubik's sleep (chorus)

The world's goal cannot be met
For it involves the death of it
What God has made can never die
With joy now the Rubik cries

“Holy Spirit take us home
No longer on this earth to roam
Take us from this sea of pain
Take us back to God again

“Holy Spirit take us home
No longer on this earth to roam
Take us from this sea of pain
Take us back to God again”

And the Rubik's Cube of people
Every shape and size and kind
Yes, the Rubik's Cube of people
Thought that they had left God's mind

But the Holy Spirit knew just how
To show them they were one
And took them back to how it was
Before it had begun
