Show Notes for Episode 19
My wife, Eva, and I live in English, Indiana in a log cabin on nearly 7 acres. We have our own woods. It is a peaceful place.

The episode today reminds me of when I was a Montessori School bus driver when I lived in West Palm Beach Florida (many years ago). I had two runs a day, picking up kids and dropping them off, in Palm Beach--a rather exclusive area. The kids were pre-school age. Puff the Magic Dragon was popular then and as I drove through a woodsy area of Palm Beach, sometimes I'd tell the kids this was where Puff the Magic Dragon lived. Once a kid came crying up to the front of the Van I was driving that had been fashioned into a small school bus, and said, "Johnny told me you were gonna drop me off where Puff lived." I assured him I wouldn't do that. But that is a hazard when you make up stuff with a bus load of pre-schoolers I guess. Enjoy the creative efforts of mine today. I believe you will.

The Inflatable Dragon by Vic Zarley

A dragon I had ordered to inflate and cause a fright
Came within the mail in a box so small and bright
I opened it so eagerly and laid it out with care
But as I stretched the dragon out, it seemed to ask for air

Chorus Blow me up blow me up
I'm a dragon, can't you see
Blow me up blow me up right away

Blow me up blow me up
Let me show you all of me
Blow me up blow me up, I say

And so I slowly blew it up—I gave it all I had
And as that dragon came to life, I saw that he was mad
Tiny sparks of anger seemed to shoot right from his eyes
And as I plugged his air hole up, I was hypnotized (no chorus)

It roared and bit and scratched and spit those flames all over me
And when my parents popped it how I cried so desperately
They said they didn't know that I had ordered such a pet
But since I did they had no choice and said with some regret

Blow it up blow it up
It's a dragon, can't you see
Blow it up blow it up right away

(and then Mom said) Blow it up blow it up
Whoa…it's coming after me
Blow it up blow it up, I say

When the tears had dried and I could see what had been done
The furniture was scorched but I had had a lot of fun
There within the box I saw, and shouted so with glee
The dragon I had ordered had a three year warranty
(First chorus twice, end)

The Dragon by Vic Zarley

It happened in the office
As clear as clear could be
A dragon peeking through my door
Blew its flames at me

The desk in which I sat serene
Seemed cluttered so I hurried
The pesky dragon breathed its flames
consuming me with worry

I put my head upon the desk
The dragon felt secure
I let God's thoughts of peace flow in
I knew that was the cure

The dragon grew so angry that
He burst right through the door
I raised my head to look at him
As he began to roar-I thought:

Oh, dragon dragon dragon
How did you come to be?
Are you something that I thought?
Perhaps persistently?

Do you have to be so real?
How can I douse your flames?
Every time I'm angry am I
Calling you by name?

The dragon raised its huge head high
Its eyes were dots of fire
I felt a peace within me that
Had grown by my desire

The dragon breathed its fire out
Then belched black smoke at me
But peace and love grew stronger still
'Til all that I could see

Was how my world was ordered
With God's peace and love and joy
I started laughing at the dragon
And his hateful ploy

The dragon opened up its mouth
To eat my smiling face
But turned into a cloud of smoke
And drifted from this place

I smiled and took a healthy breath
That dragon was no more
But someone's screaming out my name
Behind the boss's door

What do they say about me?
Is it true or false? I fear
Oh, no! Another dragon's
Blowing fire in my ear
