Show Notes for Episode 5

I remember writing this song and thinking that it was so wordy, it must be a poem. But, when the chorus came, I knew it was a song. This work at first was entitled, "The Weaver" but that was a little too New Agey so we changed some of the words and called it, "Spinning Spinning God's Great Love." I believe it was written in Florida but I can't be totally sure.

Spinning Spinning God's Great Love by Vic Zarley

1. Spinning from God's giant loom
Threads flow through the world
Golden threads flow from the sun
Green waving threads just curl

As ocean laps at sandy threads
And shells, a stitch in time
Once God's thread was woven there
And now we see the sign

Chorus:
Spinning spinning God's great love
Spinning God's deep peace
Spinning spinning all His joy
God's works will never cease

Spinning spinning all our laughter
Spinning all our tears
Spinning spinning ever after
Spinning…through the years

(at end add:…through the years)

2. Spinning from God's giant loom
Spreading 'round and 'round
Forest floors have needle points
Woven on the ground

How our Father makes it so
How the threads do fly
The multi-colored facets of
This earth can make us cry

3. And how the threaded tears can fall
Trace the silver threads
Down our cheeks onto the earth
God's joy fills our heads

The threads of light stream through the night
God's fingers spin away
The buildings sparkle with moonlight
And moon threads light the bay

4. God please mend unraveled pleas
Our broken threaded cries
Jesus has Your pattern, God
Through Him loose ends are tied

Oh, Father, how we want to be
In everything You do
Through Your Son please spin us
Spin us into You

I love the lines: "They're angry at an explanation that none of us can see
They fume at that absurdity though the wind blows through the trees" I don't
remember the circumstances of writing this but it sure seems inspired. Thank you God!

I have tried reasoning with atheists but have not had much luck. Hope you enjoy it.

To the Evolutionists

by Vic Zarley

The evolutionists around the world cry there is no God
“Did nature on its own make all?” To that they all just nod
There is no Spirit deep in us that causes us to move
There is no hidden mystery that keeps us in a groove

And when our joy fountains forth from somewhere deep within
There is no explanation from those who see so dim
When geysers of God's love pour forth to bless all those around
The scientists of materialism can only share a frown

And study earth and all cold things in hopes that they will find
Some other explanation other than our God's great Mind
Somehow there cannot be a God, yes, we are all alone
It's best, they feel, that they should seal everything in stone

They've said we dream illusions, they've said there cannot be
A mighty power deep within that none of us can see
But Jesus came to help us all, He showed us God Himself
And all they know about His life sits on their empty shelf

They're angry at an explanation that none of us can see
They fume at that absurdity though the wind blows through the trees
There's got to be another way that all this came about
The Jesus Bomb is not an answer despite its historical shout

But God is not dissuaded by the cold and heartless men
Who cannot fathom God in us, who cannot see our Friend
Our mighty Lord is on His throne, His throne is in our hearts
His still small voice can then be heard--as wisdom He imparts

God made all material things but had some extra power
To dwell in us and give us peace even in our darkest hour
So why stop at materialism, why stop there to stay
With opened mind, I'm sure you'll find that God is here today!
